USA State Dept hasn't Changed Since 29-11-1947

It's no secret that  way back when, before the Israeli Declaration of Independence, the American State Department had advised then President Harry Truman not to support a Jewish State in the United Nations vote. And Truman, with multiple pressures and problems to deal with as the replacement of the late FD Roosevelt, was pretty much convinced.

Jews like to think that the most important, pressing and urgent issue Truman had to deal with at the time was that upcoming vote. But Truman had more pressing things on his mind, no doubt. It took the personal urging of his old friend, Eddie Jacobson, to make him buck the State Department and instruct the United States representative to vote in favor of a Jewish State.

Here we are seventy 70 years later, and the State Department hasn't changed a bit. The big difference is the political and diplomatic skills of Truman versus Trump.
